A battle with Hao’s minions leaves Ren defeated and lifeless. To save him, Yoh makes a deal with Jeanne the Iron Maiden and withdraws from the Shaman Fight. Disappointed but not surprised, Anna recalls the day she and Yoh first met at Mt. Osore. Their story is told through an epic poem written by the split-tailed cat, Matamune, Yoh’s first spirit ally.
